turn me upside down to see what you see

Wow!! :wow: This is so much fun!! 8D And eerie!

I thought your Artist Comments were supposed to be a metaphor for the piece as a whole, but I decided to flip my laptop upside down anyway -- just for fun -- and I was so surprised by what I saw! This is such a cool idea, and you pulled this off incredibly well! I love the way you've incorporated the ENTIRE picture for this topsy-turvy effect -- not just the center figure. It's wonderful!

This is certainly something I don't see every day. Major points for creativity, and for being able to pull this off so well! It's amazing how you've created such a cheerful image (complete with soft, swirling lines) that can change so drastically just by turning the piece upside down. :star: Suddenly, those beautiful wavy tresses of hair look dark and sinister. This certainly puts a new spin on "looking at a piece from different angles"... :XD:

On a more technical note, I'm quite fond of the two-toned look you have here. It compliments the drawing very well. Additionally, this is quite a unique canvas shape, and you made a beautiful choice in hue. The white-and-copper effect makes this piece seem even more surreal; like a mural. Or an ancient scroll. Or a shield. Or a Greek vase. Love it. What sort of medium is this, anyway? Is it white chalk on paper? What is your canvas made of?

If I could adjust anything about this piece, it wouldn't have to do with the artwork at all -- but the way you've uploaded this deviation. Because the stark contrast between the white and bronze creates such a wonderful effect, the rest of the white background tends to be distracting. If possible, it'd be wonderful if you opened this piece in Photoshop (or a similar program) and got rid of the white background. Upload the deviation again as a .GIF or .PNG file keeping the background transparent. I think it'd look lovely.

All in all, this is a fantastically creative and wonderful deviation. I'm so glad it caught my eye in #Thumbsshare, as it was quite a treat to stumble upon. Keep up the wonderful work!

And thank you so much for sharing. :w00t:

What attracted me in this deviation is the leaf shaped canvas you decided to use for your artwork. I think it's a really original choice and it looks good in my opinion. I also like the fact you decided to negative drawing this image, as the image doesn't look empty and it's filled with all kind of shadings! As for the drawing itself, I find it interesting. I like the way you drawn the hair as it's floating in the water, and I also love all the little details you've added to recreate the underwater feeling, drawing fishes and sea plants.
